I have been to many nail salons my whole life. And every nail salon has some sort of theme. Whether it is an ocean, nature, ancient, or royalty theme, each one brings out interest and entertainment. It also makes you feel welcomed in and you automatically feel fresh the moment you step in. You want your nail salon to stand out and have something special that no other nail salon has.
Stepping into a nail salon, you do not want to see everything unorganized and cramped in places. You need space and balance. The pedicure chairs need to be evenly spaced out and in an orderly form. The colors that you choose for your chairs should complement the color of your store. The colors that you choose for your store helps set the mood. Bringing in bright colors to your store makes the customers feel fresh and satisfied. Colors like blue, tan, and green, make the mood relaxing. Never choose dark colors for your store. It just brings the mood down and makes your store look smaller than it is.
Bringing art murals to your store is optional, but I would recommend it. It gives interest and color. Each artwork that you provide is a decoration and some may even describe your salon. It helps make your salon seem more amusing than just plain and boring. Having music in the background is a good way to keep the customers relaxed and patient. You should provide soft, soothing, songs or melodies. A great way to make the theme of your salon more noticeable is to have the song or melody fit in with the theme. It will really impress the customers.
When walking into a salon, you want it to smell fresh and clean. You do not want it to smell like food, or smell too much chemicals in the air. You want them to know that you are running a salon not a restaurant. The smell of food in a salon does not make your store look professional; instead it makes it look dirty and stuffy. I personally like having the salon to have a nice scent of freshness, because when I come to the salon, I am usually stressed from work or just ready to relax. Having the salon to not smell good just ruins my relaxing mood.
Many of the salons that I have been to, is either too hot or too cold. The temperature outside depends on how you should keep the temperature in your salon. If it is cold outside, you should keep your salon at a warm temperature, but make sure it is not too warm. If it is hot outside, you should keep your salon at a fresh, cool temperature, but make sure it is not too cold, that people make freeze to death.
Remember that when opening a salon, having the right atmosphere is very important. Not only it will make your salon look great and professional, it will also satisfy each and every one of your customers.
