Eat your vegetables. No sauces, no mixing or blending or nothing! Raw, steamed or microwaved, they're great for adding color to a meal (greens, yellows, and beans in all sorts of colors). I know fresh and organically grown is best, and seriously, you just have to buy it that way.

Keep reading the rest of the tips below. You'll find them to be helpful whether you're interested in knowing more about general health or more specific topics like tria hair removal laser. Who knows? Youthful, glowing body may be in your future after implementing just one of the tips listed here.

Positive energy is very contagious. If you are nice to others, they will be nice to you. Have you ever held a door open for someone? How about smiled at a stranger at the mall? You most likely found they responded favorably, and that is what this section is about. Doing these little good deeds will have you feeling much better about yourself in the long run.

A big part of being successful at maintaining a successful diet plan is staying away from folks who will sabotage your efforts. I call these enablers. I spoke with a lady recently that had lost 150 lbs and she told me she had to tell her friends and family to stop asking her to eat out and eating fattening food in front of her. Furthermore, she had to tell them to stop encouraging her to "not be obsessed and just try some of the food". She likened it to taking a recovering alcoholic to a bar. Probably not a good idea. Even research backs this up. A high quality study of 12,000 people followed over 30 years found that obesity spreads through social ties (Christakis & Fowler, 2007). In an episode of A&E's hit show called "Heavy" a young woman had to move out of her house and get a new job in order keep away from the temptations her family and job presented. Big surprise...it worked.

A simple blood test can let you know if you have high cholesterol. National guidelines recommend that everyone over age 20 have a blood test to determine cholesterol levels. It should include results for total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglycerides. A healthy total cholesterol level is 200 mg/dL or lower. For LDL cholesterol, it is 100 mg/dL or lower. For HDL cholesterol, it is 60 mg/dL or higher. For triglycerides, it is 150 mg/dL or lower.

The sun is directly linked to aging, wearing protective clothing and adequate sunscreen when outdoors is extremely important. A glamorous tan may look good for a while, but the lack of one can help you live a lot longer. Besides, too much sun can cause you a lot of skin problems and can be very detrimental to your health too.

As most of us lead extremely busy lives, it is often sleep that gets sacrificed so we can cram more in to our day. Reduced quantity and quality of sleep can lead to a suppressed immune system and make you more prone to grogginess, illness and increased stress. Most adults need between 6-8 hours of quality sleep per night. You judge which amount leaves you feeling alert and vibrant the next morning. Make sleep a priority by allowing yourself time to unwind at the end of each night in a way that suits you.

If you are overweight, lose the weight! Your health matters. Your heart cares. Do not go on a fade diet. Start eating healthy. Start reading the ingredients on labels. Know what you are eating. Calories are important, and empty ones do not count. Desire a late night snack? Sleep or eatvan apple. Have a mid-day crave? Eaat another apple. Grapes are good too. Eat to live, not live to eat. Also, read #1, 2 and 3 again.

You should never add supplements to your diet without talking to your doctor first but you should talk to your physician about taking fish oil. Fish oil has been found to reduce general inflammation and can reduce the risk of heart disease as well. It's also great for the health of your hair and skin.

There are a lot of things in life that we have no control over. But the key to healthy living is focusing on what your thoughts and reactions the things you can control. Remember the Serenity Prayer? Even nonreligious folks can reap the benefits from following these words: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference." Withrow said this is a good rule of thumb for stress management. It can be empowering to focus on what you can control and then let go of the things that you can't.
