Haircare for beach holidays

When on beach holidays, most people are very aware of doing what they can to avoid the chances of sunburn ruining their beach escape abroad. However, your hair is also another part of your body that can easily be damaged when exposed to the sun. Just like your skin, your hair is easily damaged by the sun's UV rays but there are other dangers too; salty sea water can leave your hair tangled, chlorinated swimming pools can fade colour and strip your hair of natural moisture and throw a windy day into the mix and your hair is one big, matted mess. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to ensure your hair stays in great condition whilst away.

Don't worry, there' s a bevy of products to protect your treasured tresses that are out on the market and stocked in most shops. Suncare for your hair is easy if you stick to a product that works for your specific hair type. Usually hair treatments that help combat rays are in a serum, which can come in a cream or spray and have the same UV protective properties as sun cream. If you colour your hair regularly, there are daily products to use to help combat fade along with the sun's harmful rays but what's particularly important for coloured hair is taking along a specific shampoo and conditioner to help lock in colour at night. Otherwise, opt for a moisturising shampoo and conditioner duo to seal the ends of your hair and give it a helping hand.

Those on holidays in Benidorm should also apply a leave-in conditioner or overnight serum.

Another way to keep the sun from ruining your roots on Costa Dorada holidays, is to cover your head with a hat.
